Art Lesson

Sasha's pre-k teacher mentioned that Sasha really shows a natural talent and interest in art. The news didn't come as a surprise, but it made me realize that she needs some guidance and encouragement to focus her natural talents.

Today, we worked on drawing the human face. She's used to drawing smiley faces (perfectly fine for her age), so I wanted to see whether she could handle adding detail to her illustrations. I guided her in the process, but she drew every line of this herself. We talked about features such as eyebrows and eyelashes, the bridge of the nose, the size and proportion of the face, and how only one ear is sometimes visible due to the angle of the face.
